Samar's Story
Samar grew up in the village of Kantapukur with his mother, uncle and grandmother. Samar's father abandoned the family when Samar's mother, Syamoli, was pregnant because she had a physical disability. Syamoli moved back home to her mother's house where he lived a rough life. No one in the family earned money so Samar was malnourished, going to sleep a lot of nights without food and lived in a home that was not safe or in the least bit comfortable for him.
Samar was so abused and so depressed that he was essentially mute for years of his life.
Let's not forget that there was no way for Samar to receive education.
If he continued to live with his family, he would have been doomed to be the next generation of poverty, continuing the same cycle that his mother and her family had lived in.
Syamoli helped changed Samar's life and allowed him to go live in the Boys Dream Home in 2018.
While in the Dream Home, Samar has thrived.
He became healthier because he was receiving regular meals, and happier because he had a safe home and a bed to sleep in.
Also - he got to get an education!
After completing his board exams, Samar attended automobile engineering training and as of February 2023, he accepted a job at the Suzuki company after a job fair interview at his school!
We are THRILLED at this news. This is just a testament to what can happen through the dedicated staff at SEED and through gifts from supporters of Seed India.
Generational poverty ends with Samar!
